Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers
This policy describes how the Substack Archiver Chrome extension ("the extension", "we") handles information when you install and use it. It is developed and published by kienkoi89.
2. Information we collect
The extension collects the minimum needed to function, and stores it only on your own device:

None of the above is transmitted to any server we operate — because we don't operate one. The extension is a pure client: your browser talks directly to Substack (to fetch posts you already have access to) and to Dodo Payments (only to check whether a license key is valid). We never see this data ourselves.
3. Information we do not collect
- We do not collect or see your Substack username, password, or session cookies. The extension uses your browser's existing, already-authenticated session — the same way visiting the site in a tab would — and never reads or stores your credentials.
- We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, browsing history, or telemetry of any kind.
- We do not use tracking pixels, ads, or third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data, because we do not collect any to begin with.
- The content of the posts you archive never leaves your computer — conversion to Markdown/TXT/PDF happens entirely inside your browser, and files are saved directly to your local Downloads folder.
4. Third-party services
The extension talks to exactly two categories of external service, both only when strictly necessary for the feature you're using:

Substack (
*.substack.comand publications' custom domains) — to load the posts you ask to download, using your own signed-in session. This is no different from visiting those pages yourself. -
Dodo Payments (
dodopayments.com) — used only for checkout and to validate a pasted license key. Dodo Payments processes your payment directly; we never see or store your card details. See Dodo Payments' own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
5. Permissions the extension requests, and why

6. Children's privacy
The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — child or adult, since as explained above, no personal information is collected by us at all.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Effective date" above will be updated. Since the extension collects no contact information from you, we cannot notify you directly of changes — please check back here periodically.
